Why do you think religion is important in people's lives ?
It is necessary to believe something in life, at least something to have a purpose because it gives meaning to life. For some the meaning is to be good in this life because you will be rewarded in the next.
Without believing in something or in yourself, it is very easy to fall into depression since the sense of things is lost, since we are something insignificant in the vast universe. What role could someone have in this small blue world and that is why in order to find answers where there are none, religion was created, feeling chosen by a supreme being. In addition to giving responsibility to this being over the things that happen helps a lot to solve things, if one believes in destiny and that all things happen through something, it is easy to remove the blame and argue that God did it.
So of course, religion is very important especially for the human race since we are a species that asks many questions and if we need quick answers and I do not blame anyone who wants to believe that everything is a master plan, instead of thinking that nothing It is under control and we live in a world of chaos. It is good to know that there is an answer to give you control and security in life.
Hi, I think like you it is easy to fall into depression or existentialist thoughts without believing in something like what religion delivers. But that life has no sense or meaning pushes people to find the sense they want or the meaning they want and maybe that's a good thing I think.
ResponderBorrarHii, I agree with you that religion has been one of the great tools that humanity has had to combat many of the pressure and psychological problems that it may have had throughout its history.
ResponderBorrarHi Alejandro, it is interesting the topic of why the human being needs to feel the support in a superior figure or a superior force. Religions have struggled to fight who is better than the other, but they all have the same goal, to persuade and make people believe that one faith is better than the other. I believe that the human being is a very weak, so needs to look for answers based on spirituality.
ResponderBorrarHello Alejandro, I agree with you, historically religion has served to give a little more meaning to life. However lately are fewer and fewer people who consider themselves religious, I think it’s interesting to wonder what will happen if there are fewer and fewer people who believe in religions?, what will be the other ways to seek the meaning of existence?, it’s hard to imagine a world where religious beliefs are left behind, but anyway I think the way to practice them is going to change
